More and more the continents seem to be pastiches of rocks from far corners of the earth plastered one atop the other. Specialists in this new field have recognized more than 300 different terranes around the margins of the Pacific. In keeping with this spirit, this article quotes a perceptive Old Geologist's Saying:
"I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't believed it."
